Janarthanan Selvarajoo spent 11 years in the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). During his tenure at MOM, he held positions as Assistant Commissioner for Labour, Head of Labour Court, Director of Employment Inspectorate and Deputy Controller of Work Permit. Prior to his transfer to MOM, he spent 28 years in the Singapore Armed Forces holding various senior positions. In his long established career in the civil service, he worked closely with industry associations, other government agencies and regulatory bodies.
Janar has established himself as a highly knowledgeable HR practitioner with hands-on experience in the development and implementation of regulatory policies, labour standards, review of employment trends, promotion of best practices and corporate training in employment laws and practices.
Janar holds a Bachelor Degree in Management and Marketing and is currently Chief Consultant of a HR consultancy. He is actively providing consulting services and training for corporations in various industries as well as associations. He is highly sought-after for advice and consultancy on matters pertaining to formulation of HR policies, preparation of employee handbook, HR practices, employment laws and labour standards. He also provides HR consultancy and HR audit services to companies to improve and instil good business practices in HR management.
